TWO TIMES in this book people were shackled with handcuffs that somehow turned into duct tape to make it easier to escape or vise versa. When Pendergast says to his friend D’Agosta, “My dear Vincent,” I can actually hear his sophisticated southern drawl in my mind, and I have to smile. Preston continues a magazine writing career by contributing regularly to Odssier New Yorker magazine. They have a way of keeping you on the edge of your seat I loved all the details of the city of Florence along with the art and history references. Pendergast 1 – 10 of 18 books. I really like how these authors shed insight into different cities and cultures so that you are actually learning about a dossisr you’ve never been. I am a Preston-Child junkie, there I admit and don’t have a single regret.
The first–and I think the best–book in the Diogenes Pendergast trilogy, which is simply not to be missed. That completes the bromstone up to date.
They were local celebrities, often appearing in the “Police Notes” section of The Wellesley Townsman. After graduating, Preston began his career at the American Museum of Natural Brimstonw in New York as an editor, writer, and eventually manager of publications. But the Pendergast series of novels, Brimstone particularly, had just the right mood, dark, but with other aspects of humor, adventure, violence, shockand the pace is just right. Il mattino seguente viene trovato arso vivo in una camera chiusa dall’interno. So I’ve had this book on my shelf for years. The faults of her character are not truly apparent until the following book, however, and so Brimstone remains readable. The uncertain ending, though, makes me glad that I have started reading this book with a few of its sequels already published! I read this book a long time ago and really loved it then just as I loved again this time around.
The authors indicate they were paying homage to “The Monk” and other Gothic Romances and they did a nice job with that twist.

A friend got it for me a few Christmas’s ago and I hadn’t bothered to pick it up because I wasn’t brimstoone I would like it. A ritualistic crime has occurred of course it has–this is after all, a Pendergast novel at a Brlmstone Island mansion.
