Maelstgom use of scientific logic toward the end brings up many interesting issues about the relationship between man, God and nature. Poe should still be alive writing more stories. He and his brothers are fishing when they are caught in a terrible storm. I also liked the scientific note about Archimedes about the floating principle of different bodies, it was very good, and made it a bit realistic for me.
